Divided By 13: The Perfect Alliance of Authenticity and Functionality
The story begins in Los Angeles in the late ’90s. After building a solid reputation repairing amps for renowned artists such as Dave Grohl, Mark Knopfler and Lenny Kravitz, to name but a few, Fred Taccone, a passionate craftsman, decided to create a range of amplifiers that combined the elegance of vintage sound with the reliability of modern equipment. The result: amplifiers handcrafted with incredible attention to detail, from the choice of components to final assembly. Today, Divided by 13 amps can be found in around a hundred studios worldwide, and are particularly popular with session guitarists looking for the ideal amp to embody their tunes.
In early 2024, Two-Rock, another giant in the world of boutique amps, acquired Divided By 13. A logical merger between two brands that share the same obsession: offering musicians uncompromising sound. This is
Thanks to a wonderful collaboration between Boullard Musique and Two-Rock, it’s with immense pleasure and a little personal pride that we’ve become the Swiss reseller of Divided By 13 amps.

The perfect combination of British and American amps
Unlike Two-Rock amps, whose essence lies in the heritage of Fender Black Face amps and legendary Dumble amps, Divided amps are inspired by the American Tweed amps of the late 1950s, sought after for their inimitable grain and mythical saturation, which is the source of rock’s greatest hits. And British amps, which propelled English rock in the 1960s. This feat is made possible on certain models like the CCC9/15 or the JRT9/15 by amps with 2 different power stages, with both 6V6 tubes, used in American amps, and EL84 tubes, generally used in British amps. You can switch from one mode to the other, transforming your amp in a completely analog way. Whether you’re looking for the perfect studio amp, a tribute to the legends of electric amplification or the ultimate pedal platform, you won’t go wrong adding one of these amps to your arsenal.
We’ve had a lot of fun testing each and every Divided by 13 amp to tell you about in this article, (yes, some jobs are harder than others) and we can only encourage you to come to the store and do the same. There’s nothing like trying them out in real-life conditions to feel all the magic of these amps. And just in time: Boullard Musique is the exclusive dealer in Switzerland!
