Hawaiian instrument imported by Portuguese travelers in the 19th century, the ukulele belongs to the category of plucked strings. Usually used in Hawaiian orchestras, it became very popular in the field of jazz or pop where we find it today. Easily transportable due to its small size, some prefer it to spend good musical moments by the beach & feet in the sand. Which is reminiscent of Hawaii, its climate and the beauty of its landscapes. Traditionally made from koa, today ukuleles are made with mahogany. They have tuning forks of different sizes which will define the range of the instrument:
- Sopranino: from 10 to 12 inches
- Soprano: from 12 to 14 inches
- Concert: from 14 to 16 inches
- Tenor: from 16 to 18 inches
- Baritone:> to 18 inches
