Find the largest selection of recorders with a unique selection made by our experts: Sopranino, Soprano, Alto, Bass, Garklein ...

Initially made with woods from fruit trees, the recorder is today made with more solid woods such as boxwood, maple, rosewood and many others.

This wind instrument exists in several sizes which define its range (or pitch):
  • Sopranino
  • Soprano
  • Viola
  • Tenor
  • Bass
  • Double bass
  • Garklein
  • Subbass
Defined as part of the woodwind family, the recorder was initially made up of 9 holes in the 14th century, then evolved into an 8-hole manufacture. Its practice requires a technique of articulation and coordination between the fingers and the breath.
