Specification

Do you have a great plan to learn how to play the Handpan? Take your pick for the B Celtic Double Ding. It's a perfect drum for upgrading your playing technique from zero to hero and from hero to professional level. Beginners will love this scale because it is very melodic and easy to handle. Seasoned musicians will appreciate the harmonious sound of the instrument, the ease of improvisation and the increased number of notes which give more room to experimentation.

This scale is tuned in B and has an additional A bass note. Like a two-sided coat that is bright and colorful on the outside and dark on the inside, the B Celtic has two sides. You can choose between the two moods - the happy A major and the gloomy B minor - by changing the key of the melody.

What makes the B Celtic Double Ding so special? It is one of the first steel drums designed by RAV Vast and the first experimental steel tongue drum that features two notes in the same zone.

The Double Ding range belongs to Celtic musical culture, so the melodies played with this steel tongue drum have that specific Irish flavor. It can remind you of ancient times, songs about the exploits of King Arthur and the love story of Tristan and Isolde.

The B Celtic Double Ding is a pentatonic scale. What is so unique about pentatonic tuned musical instruments that people love them? It all depends on the repeating harmonies - the same notes are tuned in stacked octaves. The B Celtic Double Ding provides you with the 3 octave notes (2nd, 3rd and 4th) for all your musical experiences. Although the scale is called the B Celtic Double Ding, its Ding is tuned in A2, while B is the base note and focal point of this scale. Instead of having just another note (like in other scales), the B Celtic Double Ding has a lower version of the A note that is already present in that scale. The lower note allows you to add dynamics to your playing. You can add more percussion by using the area above the tongue. You can choose between the happy A setting and the more serious and mystical B setting. An opportunity to change the key gives you a wider variety of songs that you can play. If you want to play in the minor key B, exclude the Ding. If you want to switch to A major, avoid pressing two base notes - B2 and F # 3 (see the online music example for this technique).

This scale has no halftone. And the lack of midtones on this scale means it looks very harmonious regardless of which tune direction you choose. There is a lot of sympathetic resonance and all the notes are consonant.

Who this scale will work for

The B Celtic Double Ding is the scale that will literally work for anyone. It will be a perfect starting point for beginners. If you want to get the instrument that will teach you to play, one that can give you more and more options to learn as you grow as a musician, there is no better drum kit of all the drums available for sale.

The B Celtic Double Ding will also give a lot to seasoned players. It's a big scale for people who tend to improvise a lot because this scale has a good variety of chords. As more markers in the box provide more color to your art, the extra note gives you more room to perform anything from simple rhythms to full-length musical compositions.

The opportunity to change the key from major to minor requires you to know the scale in a different ability unlike the scale with a fixed key. The B Celtic Double Ding being a pentatonic scale, you will be able to find common ground with a guitar or a pianist (especially if they know the pentatonic scale which is a kind of blues scale).

This range also pairs well with a large number of other RAV drums like D Major, B Celtic Minor, B Kurd, B RUS and also sounds great with E Low Pygmy.
