So the Martin Standard Series isn't just a name, it's the standard and the benchmark.
Proven premium woods, spruce tops, real mahogany or East Indian rosewood backs and sides - solid, of course - make these guitars an absolute dream for any guitarist.
Many of these Martin shapes have been around for over 100 years, and have been continuously improved and developed over that time.
The OM shape was very popular with fingerpickers and available only on order for decades, before finally becoming a standard C.F. Martin model in the 1990s. Today, it is the second most copied C.F. Martin shape. The soundboard is spruce, the back and sides Indian rosewood. Imitation tortoiseshell bindings keep the look sober.
