Combining the versatility of the CJ 11 preamp with the dual 6V6/EL84 power supply section of the JRT 9/15, the CCC 9/15 offers an impressive range of classic tones inspired by the low-power American and British models designed in the 1950s and 1960s.
Inspired by the iconic 1×12 tweed combo of the 1950s, which features a single Tone control limited to high frequencies, the CCC 9/15 preamp goes a step further with treble and bass filters, as well as Master volume and Boost.
The addition of a Bass control allows fine-tuning of low frequencies, improving clarity and increasing headroom when the amp is pushed to saturation, which is crucial for low-power circuits used in live performance. The inclusion of a Master Volume and boost allows the CCC 9/15 to deliver a wide range of drive sounds, from subtle breakup to moderate overdrive and full saturation, all at manageable volumes while retaining touch sensitivity and sonic integrity.
The CCC 9/15 is distinguished by its ability to alternate between 9 watts, powered by a pair of Class A 6V6 tubes, producing the smooth, full-bodied tones typical of classic American amplifiers of the 1950s, and 15 watts with a Duet of Class AB EL84 tubes, offering a lively, shimmering top end and complex, musical distortion reminiscent of British models of the 1960s. The sound qualities and dynamic response, combined with the adaptable volume levels of these two output modes, make the CCC 9/15 an exceptionally versatile instrument, suitable for a variety of performance and studio contexts.
