The specialist's opinion
This pedal is based on the original John Hornby Skewes Zonk Machine MKI pedal produced in Leeds, England, in 1965 - 1966.
The Zonk Machine is tonal similar to the MKI Tone Bender offering Drive Fuzz sounds.
Based on a limited production, the originals are exceptionally rare. Compact series pedals require their own isolated 9V power supply. This is due to the nature of PNP transistors which cannot be used with a daisy chain power supply.
