The Catalinbread Formula No.
55 is an "Overdrive Foundation" that mimics, in fine detail, the pre-amp section of the classic Fender ™ tweed 5E3 Deluxe using an entirely discrete JFET-based signal path.
The volume and tone controls mimic, in part, the circuitry of the 5E3, giving you an authentic tweed amp response. The output section is designed to give you punch and volume with low output impedance to perfectly drive your amp. Set the Hi - Lo knob to "Lo" for the cleaner response of a vintage tweed amp. The "Hi" button is like a "Hot Rodding" of your amp by replacing the higher gain tubes.
