The Dunlop Cry Baby Wah JCT95 by Justin Chancellor is a multi-tool of sound crafting, combining three distinct effects into one pedal: the smooth expressiveness of a custom mid filter, the brilliant aggression of a custom wah circuit and the chainsaw grinding of a vintage Fuzz.
It is the perfect complement to the multidimensional role of bassist Justin Chancellor in the Tool group.
Whether opening up soundscapes with chords and overtones or syncing with guitarist Adam Jones to perform striking unison passages, Justin goes beyond the traditional limits of his instrument to contribute to the composition multi-layered pieces of the group. It is, without a doubt, one of the pioneers in the use of effects on the bass, and it has a pedal board carefully configured to create tones and explore sounds. This custom Cry Baby Wah combines a few of her favorite ways to achieve this: filter, wah, and fuzz.
