The specialist's opinion
The Gibson Flying V is considered one of Gibson's most iconic models.
First introduced in 1958, it became increasingly popular over the following decades, especially with hard rock and metal guitarists.
For many of them, the 1980s are when the model really took off. The Gibson 80s Flying V is based on the much sought after 1984 models. It features a SlimTaper mahogany neck, perfect for fast playing, with a rosewood fingerboard. The mahogany body is fitted with new Tribute pickups from the 80s that accurately capture the unique sound and rich sustain of models from this era. Now available in Gloss Ebony finish, a hard case is also included.
