It was in 1932 that Selmer joined forces with Italian guitarist and luthier Mario Maccaferri to produce a range of acoustic guitars based on the unorthodox design. Although the Maccaferri / Selmer association ended in 1934, the company continued to manufacture several models of this guitar until 1952.
