The specialist's opinion
'' Bach cat '' is a jazz piece for two organists composed the request of the duo Olivier Vernet - Ce?
dric Meckler.
The theme, in AABA form, alternating Latin rhythms and swing, is constituted? quotes from some of the best-known works by Jean-Se? bastien Bach: the first theme of the first movement of the concerto for two violins, the theme of the famous "Badinerie" from the suite in B minor , as well as an allusion to? the no less famous melody from the cantata "Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben" (I know that my joy remains). Two written choruses are also pre-written to? hints at? the work of the Cantor of Leipzig: melodies borrowed from the concerto for two violins, as well as from the third movement of the Italian concerto.
