For this formation so rarely represented, Monnikendam offers a nugget of inventiveness and expressiveness.
Despite a melody imbued with chromaticisms, the violin develops a lyrical melody.
The organ responds to him, particularly in the middle part which offers some variations on a 2nd theme presented by the solo pedalboard. In counterpoint, the violinist shows an increasing virtuosity, until an appeasement which progresses towards the starting atmosphere, to end on luminous chords.
