3 Fantasias - No. 7 8 9 From 12 Fantasias For Violin
Item No. : 193194
The specialist's opinion
The collection of 12 fantasies for solo violin (TWV 40: 14–25) by Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1757) was first published in Hamburg in 1735.
There is clearly an Italian influence of the sonata and the concerto.
The fantasies no. 7, 8 and 9 selected by Roland Szentpali are those which lend themselves best to the adaptation for the brass instruments, the 9 others making use of the playing in double string, rather Germanic tendency in the compositions for solo violin.
